Favorite Thing About Huskies/Northern Breeds: My favorite thing about owning 2 snow dogs is that they’ve turned me into a winter person! I used to wait all year for summer, but now we get out and snow hike & hang outside all winter and I love watching them jump into snow piles on hikes 😂

About Me

I joined Arctic Rescue as a foster home back in 2021 and took on two 9-month old husky sisters. It was a wild ride fostering 2 pups in addition to my own 2 dogs, but they were going to be euthanized if we didn’t take them- so we gladly welcomed them in.

My background is in entrepreneurship, social media, and Taekwondo (I own 2 martial arts schools here in Utah). I had 0 rescue knowledge when I started other than my passion for loving dogs!

Lots of people dream about having a rescue one day, and volunteering is a great place to start now where you can make a huge difference even with just a few hours a week! I love our rescue community and it’s led to great friendships and meeting awesome people who continue to amaze me in how much they care to help save these huskies 🫶

Favorite Thing About Huskies/Northern Breeds: The challenge of truly understanding and meeting their unique needs. They are often misunderstood, and their well-being requires care and enrichment tailored specifically to their individual personalities and instincts—there’s no 'one size fits all' solution. But the love they return is unlike anything else—unconditional, joyful...and often hilariously entertaining!

About Me

My passion for animals (and rescue) started when I was a little girl and has only grown stronger over the years. In 2021, after getting our first husky, I realized how misunderstood they are, and how much these incredible dogs mean to me.

Huskies have since become a major focus in my efforts to help animals. I feel such a deep connection with them. Huskies have a way of reminding you that love, patience, and dedication matter. They thrive when they are given the opportunity to be themselves, and when they receive the care and support they need, the bond you share becomes something extraordinary. These dogs deserve the love, care, and effort it takes, and in turn, they remind you how rewarding it is to truly see and be seen.

My mission is to work tirelessly to ensure all animals, especially huskies, have the chance to find safe, loving forever homes.

Favorite Thing About Huskies/Northern Breeds: I identify with arctic breeds because they are goofy, stubborn, energetic, have wild hair, and love to sing… just like me! My dogs help me more than I help them.

About Me

It is an honor to be a part of Arctic Rescue. We dedicate time and energy to finding healthy and stable homes for dogs in need. I started volunteering by fostering and learned how easy it is to fall in love with our four legged friends. Since then, I found how critical it is to find volunteers and fosters to help these dogs find their forever homes. Without fosters, transporters, and adopters—and so many other volunteers, dogs won't get a chance. But when it works, it really works wonders. I've also learned burnout is common in rescue because volunteering can at times seem a thankless task. But when I see a dog get adopted and how much love is reciprocated between the dog and its new human, it all becomes worth the challenges.

About Me

Hi everyone, I’m Amy, and I’m thrilled to be here as your liaison to the board of directors! Having been involved in nonprofit volunteer coordination and marketing for years, and also running a small dog treat company that supports local rescues, I have a deep love for rescue dogs and truly understand the dedication and heart that go into this work.

A little about me: I am so lucky to be mama to Oberon (an AR alum and one of Luna's puppies!) and mutt Katja (11, adopted from Rescue Rovers in 2014). In my heart, I am also mama to Kahlua, an incredible rescue lab mix who sadly passed in November. In my day job life, I manage science operations for a large scale ecology monitoring program. Supporting teams is such a fulfilling experience for me and doing so with a passionate team makes it even more meaningful.

Whenever possible I love to play in the mountains with my family and can't wait until I can teach Oberon to Mountain Bike with us, he's so fast and LOVES to run!

Favorite Thing About Huskies/Northern Breeds: I love how talkative and expressive they are!

About Me

I was feeling drawn to help dogs that needed to be rehomed. I found a rehoming group on Facebook. Arctic Rescue had posted about the work they were doing. They posted that they needed event volunteers. I have an events company so I thought it was perfect.

I love everything about volunteering with Arctic Rescue! The people are seriously incredible. Everyone is so kind, thoughtful, and motivated to help the dogs. Every event that we have done has been special to me. It's incredible when we get the dogs out into the community. My favorite has been watching our Puppy Yoga grow. It was a simple idea that has taken off and really connecting with our community.

Favorite Thing About Huskies/Northern Breeds: Huskies (and mixes/northern breeds) are the perfect intersection of intelligence and silliness.

About Me

Originally from the Great White North, I share a love for snow and winter with the breeds of dogs our community is passionate about serving. Having moved across country borders and state lines, my one constant has been my love for animals. A proud fur parent to my 4-year-old husky mix, Tillie, Arctic Rescue was a natural fit for my volunteer work upon moving to the SLC area. Committed to setting Arctic Rescue up for success well into years ahead, I am privileged to draw on both my past rescue experience and professional experience at a boutique consulting firm. As Foster Committee Chair, I am most looking forward to getting to know many more volunteers, fosters, and adopters, and scaling the program to help as many dogs as possible.

About Me

I made my way to Utah 2 years ago with my partner, after living in the midwest, east coast and most recently Los Angeles, California! I have nearly 10 years of experience working in broadcast media and reality television and it's an absolutely joy to be able to join the Arctic Rescue team to help Arctic Breeds find their furever homes. You can find me on the ice rink, at a local cidery, or more than likely running (with my dog, ha!) outside in the city :) .

Favorite Thing About Huskies/Northern Breeds: They have the biggest personalities and love going on adventures! They sometimes make you work for their love, but when they give it, it's so rewarding!

About Me

I started volunteering with Arctic Rescue after I ran the AR Husky Hustle with my shelter husky, Finnley. Both of my dogs have come from shelters, so I am passionate about finding loving homes for shelter dogs. There are some amazing dogs in shelters that have not been given a fair shake with life, so I love helping them find their forever home and family.

I love to run with Finnley - she's helped me train for multiple half and full marathons. She also goes on lots of hikes and camping trips with our family. Huskies are the perfect adventure buddies 💙
